There comes a point in time when one refers to life as “unfair”. Most people have been through so much that a lot of times, their efforts seem to be working against them. In the midst of all these huddle, there is a constant reminder and lesson that life is all we make of it. Sure, at a point, it seems quite unpredictable but if…
Whatever happens in your life, no matter how troubling things might seem, do not enter the neighborhood of despair. Even when all doors remain closed, God will open up a new path only for you. Be thankful!
~Elif Shafak,The Forty Rules of Love
Despair is the condition of losing hope, feeling so crushed that you even question your very existence. Everyone has felt despair one way or the other. But those who hold on long enough soon see the light at the end of the dark tunnel.
One realization that continually actualizes is that life is full of so much pain and at the same time, so much hope and beauty. All these have their phases, nothing is permanent.
If you are feeling despair, think of others in worse circumstances than you are. Some are dying, so hopeless and without even a family to call their’s. The greatest stories heard are those of people like you and me that constantly battle their fears and despair.
Hold on….your time is near. Keep hoping, never give up on life. For there are some out there that wished they had what you take for granted.
Be thankful for even the little things and look forward to a brighter future.
The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache.
~Marjorie Pay Hinckley
No matter my tears, it does no good. It never changes anything except make me more vulnerable to my fears and indulge in self-pity.
I have come to realize that laughter is a food for the soul. Situations work out if we remain positive and approach life with hearts full of laughter.
Life is beautiful, so stare down at fear, discouragement, self-pity with laughter. And smile in victory.
Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.
My childhood fantasy was making the world a better plan by helping out in anyway I can. I dulved into doing just that and volunteered greatly in humanitarian organizations. Yes, I derived fulfillment but my self-doubt always crept in. I was changing others, but not myself.
I realized that true achievement and happiness starts from you. Looking inward and finding that part of you that aches and harmonizing with it.
Then, the quest for self-awareness began. Focusing on myself came the revelation that “making yourself happy is one of the greatest achievement in life”.
Helping others is great but make yourself a priority, for your life is your legacy.
If there is one thing I can pass on from my humbling experiences in life, thus far, I will tell you this, the next time someone tells you “the absence of expectations is the absence of disappointment, do not listen. Have expectations. Keep them great. It’ll be a very bumpy ride. You’ll even get bruised, sometimes very badly. Sometimes, you’ll come to an abrupt halt or even fall off your ride. But you’ll grow. And if you do not grow, you do not live.
– Pandora Poikilos.
Growing up, my expectations were continually crushed. Sometimes, I wondered why I was persistent even against the odds. I didn’t mind falling down over and over. The assurance that I was made for something great keeps me going till date.
Along the journey, I have learnt to be content, happy and grateful. To have expectations, for life’s ride is bumpy and having something to hold on it makes it worth a while.
Hold on to your dreams, but be prepared for a bumpy ride.
Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough
A heart filled with gratitude attracts so much good. Let’s focus on the little things that makes life great, interesting and so precious.
Spend time with families, laugh your heart out at every tiny joke. Notice every moments, travel, enjoy different culture and cuisines😋.
Edit your life frequently and ruthlessly. It’s your masterpiece after all.
– Nathan W. Morris
A masterpiece is a person’s greatest piece of work and your life represents that. Each day, with every decision we make, we either build or maim it. Constant evaluation and deep reflections are necessary but it should be done ruthlessly. No need for excuses. The setbacks creates room for improvement. And with each evaluation and effort we put in this, persistence and discipline is created.
Your heart will always tell you the truth, listen to it and reflect with an unbiased mind.
Show them that hope exists. Show them that there is daylight on the other side of darkness.
~Jayne Castel,Darkest before Dawn
Hope is fragile and yet, so hard to extinguish. It is that quiet voice that keeps pushing you, even when all seem impossible, until you finally reach your goals.
Let’s ignite that tidy voice within us. Believing in our dreams and it’s fulfillment. For no matter how dire a circumstance is, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
Aristotle – Metaphysics
The mind is the bedrock of all thoughts, habits and action. It determines all choices, decisions and it’s conditions paves the path a man takes in life. However, it is fragile to the conditions of the environments and a victim of information it encounters daily.
Be able to shaft out ideas that is of little or no value. Educate your mind daily with positive thoughts, read books and expand your perception of life. Learn new skills, enjoy your company and engage in personal reflections. Only then will you be the change you crave for and be firm in working towards your dreams and bring it to fulfillment. For a mind without focus keeps wondering and never realised it’s full potential.
Guide your mind jealously for within it lies all the treasures in life.
The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and to get up eight times.
~Paulo Coelho ,The Alchemist
Failure is a sure ingredient to success. Show me a man who never failed and I will show you a man that never tried. I am grateful for my failures. For with them, character and perseverance is built.
Embrace your failures, learn the lessons life offers and try again. It is never too late to venture. Better you venture and fail than not try at all.
Remember, fear should not rule over over lives and decisions. Conquer your fear of failure, and look at all circumstances as memories.
